Hello stachers,
We are in the home stretch – 2 days to Stache Bash. Reminder, and error correction from last week, please arrive at 7:30pm at Zaphods. We will be getting underway promptly. The address is: 27 York Street in the Market. Dress to impress or dress to kill – which ever suits your fancy.
Reel in those bucks over the next couple days and bring it in with you on Friday. If you have a chance, please have your cash changed into a cheque – your cooperation is really appreciated. All cheques must be made out to Make-a-Wish.
If you can’t make it on Friday let us know. We will find a way to collect your pledges and get you a t-shirt.
A big thanks to Jose at Joe Mamma’s. We will have some gifts from Joe Mamma’s to auction off. So, if you’re a boarder or skiier or like to look like one, you’ll dig this stuff.
If you have any questions, leave a comment on the blog and we’ll get it answered.
Enjoy your last week of sweet stacheyness.

Thanks to Nicki, Morgan, Andee and Andy at OSSC for their generous contribution.
Thank you to Jose at Joe Mama’s for gift donations, getting his suppliers and employees involved and being a general, all-around, good grower.
Joseph Thornley is growing a mustache for M4K Ottawa this year. This year, Joe will match every contribution that is pledged through him up to $1,000. Pssst, go donate on his behalf.

It’s not only the kids that are hoping to benefit from a bunch of men growing mustaches in a somewhat organized effort. The Ottawa Senators, in the midst of a winless slump, have given up on practicing their hockey skills like shooting and passing and are instead looking to the magic powers of mustaches to help them find their winning ways.
We can only expect that M4K Ottawa will benefit indirectly from this valiant hair-growing effort.

We have just passed the mid-point in our campaign and things are going very well. Some time over the last week, you would have slipped passed the “you don’t usually see younger fellows wearing a mustache” point in your growing that simply confirms your impending stachehood. Good growing.
This week we will again meet at the Clocktower at 8pm. Look for us upstairs as there is another function downstairs. Pictures will be taken, beers will be drank, and the regular tomstachery will ensue.
But how goes the pledging? Great, to hear it. If you’re anything like me you probably sent out an email to friends, family, colleagues, clients, enemies, ex-girlfriends, etc. You may get the occasional response like “I made a donation through Pay Pal. It is more of a sympathy donation for the difficulties you have in growing a moustache rather than for your success. Nevertheless, the cause is worthwhile and I should not penalize the charity because of your problems. Cheers!”. But you wouldn’t be doing this if you can’t have a chuckle at yourself.
Stache bash — t minus 15 days and counting.
That’s all folks. Over and out. Good hunting. See you on Friday.

Hello stached dudes,
We are now at the end of week 2. The stache crop is look good this year, we will have a full harvest – well grown fellows, well grown.
Like I mentioned last week, if you haven’t started, get a leg up on pledging. PLEASE NOTE, We have an additional request this year, take the cash (not the cheques) you have raised and write one check (made out to Make-a-Wish Foundation of Eastern Ontario) or send the money electronically. This will help greatly on the administrative side of things. Still keep tally of your donations on the pledge sheet as this is used for totals and tax receipts.
Now the fun part: Are you ready for The Stache Bash? Do you have your costume picked out? -Get it ready.
Here are the details for the venue to pass along to friends, family, mistresses, etc:

Hello dudes with budding ’staches,
This really is the most precious of times of mustache growth – just starting out, can start to see the long tall ’stache shadow forming. It signals the real start to the M4K season.
This Friday we will be getting together to check-in, have week 1 photos taken, and jostle one another on the first week of growth. Again, this Friday November November 7 we will be at the Clocktower on Bank St The official start time is 8pm.
Your pledging will be starting up about now. You should be planting the seeds of giving to sow in the upcoming couple weeks. See the Grower’s kit for a couple tips on raising money. Keep track of people wanting receipts on the pledge sheet. I’ll run through a couple more house keeping items tomorrow and in a few emails over the next couple of weeks.
Stay cool.
Stachely,

Joseph Thornley is growing a mustache for M4K Ottawa this year. This year, Joe will match every contribution that is pledged through him up to $1,000.
Thanks to a couple early donations from some old time friends.
Word has it that Jose and friends at Joe Mama’s will be participating again.
Of course, the guys at the Clocktower will be joining in once again. Thanks to Bill and the guys at Bank Street and Brett at the Beechwood location.

Clean shave day is nearly upon us. This Friday get ready to say goodbye to boring clean shaven life and say hello to the wild roller coaster of mustaches. The roots of your mustache will run deep.
How much good could a good stache do, if a good stache good do good? Its not just about your kickass stache. Along the way you, the growers, will be raising money for Make-a-Wish Foundation of Eastern Ontario. Have a look at the website to see how your efforts helped ast year.
This and each Friday, we will descend upon the Clocktower for check in and weekly stache photos. This week we’ll be downstairs. This week we’ll also be going over a little housekeeping and any q&a.
This Friday, while having a beer or two, we will go over some general house keeping and we’ll try to impart the sentiment of why we do this every year. And we’ll be taking your Week 1 photo.
If you can’t make it Friday, or any following Friday for the matter, the website has everything you need: pledge forms, the “grower’s kit”, and online donations. And you can always ask us questions at info@m4kottawa.org. If you can’t make it you can send your photo by email to info@m4kottawa.org.
I look forward to seeing everybody on Friday.
Yours in stachely anticipation,
Brett Tackaberry
